  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
  • For Serving:

  • 1 head butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce, leaves separated


Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add sesame oil.
  2. Cook chicken: Add ground chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes until no longer pink.
  3. Add aromatics: Stir in garlic and ginger and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add vegetables: Add bell pepper and carrots, cook for 3 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. Combine sauce: Stir in hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, and sriracha; cook for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Finish and serve: Remove from heat, stir in cilantro and green onions. Spoon chicken mixture into lettuce leaves, top with peanuts, and serve.

Notes

  • For a lower-sodium option, use low-sodium soy sauce.
  • If you prefer more crunch, add water chestnuts or bean sprouts to the filling.
  • These wraps can be served as an appetizer or a light main dish.
