Description

These Teriyaki Parmesan Burgers with American Cheese combine juicy ground beef patties seasoned with teriyaki sauce, Parmesan cheese, and spices for a flavorful twist on the classic burger. Topped with melted American cheese and fresh veggies, and served on toasted buttered buns, they make an irresistible meal perfect for quick dinners or weekend grilling.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce (plus more for brushing)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 burger buns (toasted)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (for buns)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Pickles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, teriyaki sauce, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined to avoid overworking the meat. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty slightly larger than your buns.
  2. Preheat cooking surface: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat to get it ready for cooking the patties.
  3. Cook the patties: Place patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 3–4 minutes per side. During the last minute, brush with additional teriyaki sauce and top each patty with a slice of American cheese to melt.
  4. Toast the buns: While patties cook, spread butter on the cut sides of the buns and toast them lightly in a pan or on the grill until golden brown.
  5. Assemble the burgers: Place each cheesy patty on the bottom bun, then add lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and pickles as desired. Cover with the top bun and serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap American cheese for provolone or mozzarella for a different flavor profile.
  • Add grilled pineapple slices for a tropical twist and sweetness.
  • Mix mayo with sriracha sauce and spread on buns for a spicy kick.
