Creamed Corn:
- 4 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Create Roux: Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
- Add Cream and Milk: Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream until smooth.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the corn, sugar, salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using. Simmer for 8–10 minutes.
- Stir in Cheese: Stir in the Parmesan cheese and cook for another 2–3 minutes until the creamed corn is rich and creamy.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve warm.
