Description

These Spiced Peach Cobbler Cinnamon Rolls with Creamy Frosting combine the warm, comforting flavors of classic cinnamon rolls with a vibrant peach cobbler filling. Featuring a soft, yeasted dough filled with a spiced peach mixture and topped with rich cream cheese frosting, they make a perfect dessert or indulgent breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

Filling

  • 2 cups fresh or canned peaches (peeled and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Cinnamon-Sugar Spread

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

Frosting

  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1–2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)

Instructions

  1. Activate yeast and prepare dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy. Stir in melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually add flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead by hand or with a dough hook for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled.
  2. Prepare peach filling: While the dough rises, prepare the peach filling. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine chopped peaches, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and lemon juice. Cook for 5–7 minutes until thickened. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
  3. Assemble rolls: Once dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a 14×10-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter evenly over the surface, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Spoon the cooled peach cobbler mixture evenly over the top. Starting from the long end, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  4. Bake rolls: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 22–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Make frosting: While rolls bake, prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and milk, beating until creamy and spreadable consistency is achieved.
  6. Frost and serve: Allow rolls to cool slightly before spreading generously with cream cheese frosting. Serve warm for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can use frozen peaches (thawed and drained) in place of fresh or canned peaches.
  • Adding chopped pecans to the filling adds a delightful crunch.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat slightly before serving to revive softness.
