Ingredients
Scale
Fries
- 1 pound frozen or fresh French fries
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Steak & Vegetables
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak or beef sirloin
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Cheese & Garnish
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Chopped parsley or green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Fries: Bake or air fry the French fries following the package directions until they are golden and crispy, providing a perfect base for the toppings.
- Sauté Vegetables: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, sautéing for 4–5 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- Cook the Steak: Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet, add the thinly sliced steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Mix the steak with the vegetables toward the end of cooking.
- Assemble the Fries: Spread the cooked fries evenly on a large oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Top them with the cooked steak and vegetable mixture, then sprinkle evenly with shredded provolone and mozzarella cheeses.
- Melt the Cheese: Place the assembled fries under a preheated oven at 375°F for 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese has fully melted and is bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped parsley or green onions if desired, and serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute provolone with American cheese or cheese sauce for a more classic Philly flavor.
- For extra heat, add sliced jalapeños or drizzle hot sauce over the fries before serving.
