Ingredients
Scale
Fries
- 1 (26 oz) bag frozen French fries
Steak and Vegetables
- 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
Cheese
- 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Seasoning & Optional
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: cheese sauce or sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- Bake the French Fries: Preheat your oven and bake the frozen French fries according to the package directions until they are golden and crispy, typically about 20-25 minutes.
- Sauté Onions and Bell Peppers: While the fries bake, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and green bell peppers and sauté for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables soften and begin to caramelize.
- Cook the Steak: Push the cooked vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak to the other side. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the steak is browned and cooked through. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper to your taste.
- Assemble the Fries: Once the fries are done baking, transfer them onto an oven-safe platter or baking sheet. Evenly distribute the steak and vegetable mixture over the fries.
- Add Cheese and Melt: Sprinkle the shredded provolone and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the steak and veggies. Return the platter to the oven and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot. Optionally, drizzle with cheese sauce or top with sautéed mushrooms for extra flavor and richness.
