Ingredients
Scale
Burger Patties
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Cheese & Toppings
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- 4 slices cooked bacon
- 1/2 cup crispy fried onions
- 1/2 cup pickles
- 4 leaves lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
Buns & Condiments
- 4 hamburger buns
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill or Skillet: Heat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the burgers.
- Prepare the Patties: In a mixing bowl, gently combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, being careful not to overwork the meat to keep patties tender. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty slightly larger than your buns. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent bulging during cooking.
- Cook the Patties: Place the patties on the preheated grill or skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on one side until nicely seared. Flip and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes for medium doneness, adjusting time based on your preference.
- Add Cheese: During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese thoroughly.
- Toast the Buns: While the patties cook, spread butter on the cut sides of the hamburger buns and toast them face-down on the grill or skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the Burgers: On each bottom bun, layer fresh lettuce, a slice of tomato, and pickles. Add the cheesy hamburger patty followed by cooked bacon and crispy fried onions. Top with your choice of ketchup, mustard, and optional mayonnaise. Finish with the top bun.
- Serve Immediately: Serve these monster burgers hot off the grill for the best juicy and flavorful experience.
Notes
- Customize your burger with spicy mayo, barbecue sauce, or pepper jack cheese to add a kick of flavor.
- These Monster Burgers make an excellent main dish for game day or backyard cookouts.
