Description

Indulge in the warm, comforting flavors of fall with these delightful Maple Glazed Cookies. Soft and chewy cookies infused with the rich taste of maple, topped with a sweet glaze, these treats are perfect for any autumn gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 12 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Beat in the eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. Combine dry ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Bake: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft. Let cool completely.
  7. Make glaze: For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Glaze cookies: Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled cookies. Allow the glaze to set before serving.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts on top of the glaze.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
