Description

These Halloween Jello Shots are a festive and fun party treat, combining vibrant layers of orange and black cherry or grape gelatin with vodka for a spooky adult beverage. Garnished with candy corn or gummy worms, they’re perfect for adding a playful touch to any Halloween celebration.

Ingredients

Scale

Jello Shot Layers

  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 package (3 ounces) orange Jello
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 package (3 ounces) black cherry or grape Jello
  • 1/2 cup cold water (for second layer)
  • 1 cup boiling water (for second layer)
  • 1/2 cup vodka (for second layer)

Garnish

  • Candy corn or gummy worms, as needed

Instructions

  1. Boil Water: Begin by boiling 1 cup of water in a saucepan to prepare for dissolving the gelatin.
  2. Combine Orange Jello: Pour the boiling water into a measuring cup or bowl with a pouring lip, then stir in the orange Jello powder until fully dissolved.
  3. Add Cold Water and Vodka (Orange Layer): Stir in 1/2 cup cold water, then gently mix in 1/2 cup of vodka to combine the orange gelatin mixture.
  4. Pour Orange Layer: Pour the orange Jello mixture into shot glasses, filling each about halfway, and place them in the refrigerator to set for about 1 hour.
  5. Repeat for Black Cherry/Grape Layer: While the orange layer sets, dissolve the black cherry or grape Jello packet in 1 cup boiling water, add 1/2 cup cold water and 1/2 cup vodka, stirring well to combine.
  6. Add Second Layer: Once the orange layer is firm, gently pour the black cherry or grape mixture over it to fill the shot glasses completely.
  7. Chill and Set: Return the filled shot glasses to the refrigerator and let them set completely for 2-3 hours until fully firm.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, decorate each jello shot with candy corn or gummy worms for a spooky and colorful Halloween touch.

Notes

  • Use shot glasses or small disposable cups for easy serving.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute vodka with additional cold water or fruit juice.
  • Allow the layers to set fully to avoid mixing and achieve distinct colors.
  • Handle pouring the second layer gently to maintain clear division between layers.
  • Keep jello shots refrigerated until serving to maintain firmness.
