Kunafa Nests:
- 200g kunafa dough (kataifi pastry, thawed)
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Sugar Syrup:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon rose water
- 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Additional Ingredients:
- 10–12 mini gulab jamuns (store-bought or homemade)
- Crushed pistachios for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or mini tart molds.
- Prepare Kunafa Nests: Pull apart the kunafa dough and toss with melted butter. Press into muffin cavities and bake until golden brown.
- Make Sugar Syrup: Boil sugar and water, then add rose water, cardamom, and lemon juice. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Assemble: Drizzle baked nests with syrup, place a gulab jamun in each, drizzle more syrup, and garnish with pistachios.
- Serve: Enjoy warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Enhance the syrup with saffron or orange blossom water.
- Kunafa nests can be made ahead and assembled just before serving.
