Description

This Easy Pico de Gallo Salsa recipe is a fresh and zesty Mexican salsa that’s perfect for dipping with tortilla chips or topping your favorite dishes. With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up this flavorful salsa in no time!

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe Roma tomatoes (diced)
  • 1/2 medium red onion (finely chopped)
  • 12 jalapeño peppers (seeded and finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapeños, and chopped cilantro.
  2. Squeeze the lime juice over the mixture, then add salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Let the salsa sit for at least 10–15 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Serve fresh with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, or salads.

Notes

  • For a milder salsa, use just one jalapeño or replace with a milder pepper like poblano.
  • For a juicier pico, use heirloom or vine-ripened tomatoes.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
