Description

This Easy Cool Whip Candy is a no-bake, creamy, and delicious treat made with melted semi-sweet chocolate chips, Cool Whip, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Perfect for holidays or anytime you want a quick and tasty homemade fudge-like candy without the fuss of baking. Optional toppings like crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut add extra texture and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1 package (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Toppings

  • Crushed nuts
  • Sprinkles
  • Shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted. Let the melted chocolate cool slightly to avoid melting the other ingredients.
  2. Combine with Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed Cool Whip into the melted chocolate until fully combined and fluffy, ensuring an even and smooth texture.
  3. Add Flavorings: Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor of the mixture.
  4. Add Powdered Sugar: Gradually sift in the powdered sugar, stirring continuously until a thick dough-like mixture forms, making sure it is evenly mixed and smooth.
  5. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper for easy removal. Press the candy mixture evenly into the pan to form a flat layer.
  6. Apply Toppings (Optional): If desired, sprinkle your choice of crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut over the surface and gently press them into the candy to secure.
  7. Chill the Candy: Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until the candy is firm and set.
  8. Serve: Once set, remove the candy from the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into 16 squares and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Store the candy in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month for longer storage.
  • For a fun twist, try using flavored chocolate chips such as mint or white chocolate chips to create variations in flavor.
