Description
This Easy Chicken Tacos recipe offers a quick and delicious way to prepare flavorful chicken taco filling. Tender diced chicken breast is seasoned with taco spices, cooked on the stovetop to juicy perfection, and served with warm tortillas and your favorite garnishes for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken Filling
- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, diced into ½-¾ inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons taco seasoning
To Serve
- Tortillas
- Your favorite taco garnishes (such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, avocado)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chicken: Dice the chicken breasts into small pieces about ½ to ¾ inch cubes. Place the diced chicken in a bowl and sprinkle with the taco seasoning, tossing well to coat all pieces evenly.
- Heat the Pan: Allow the seasoned chicken to rest for a few minutes. Meanwhile, heat a large pan over medium-high heat and lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
- Cook the Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken to the hot pan. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring every couple of minutes to ensure even cooking. The chicken is done when its internal temperature reaches 165ºF and the juices run clear.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken from heat and let it rest for 3 to 5 minutes. Then, use the cooked chicken as filling for tortillas. Top with your preferred taco garnishes and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, add diced onions or bell peppers to the pan when cooking the chicken.
- If you prefer spicier tacos, add some crushed red pepper or hot sauce to the seasoning mix.
- Leftover chicken taco filling stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Use corn or flour tortillas depending on personal preference or dietary needs.
