Description

This Crockpot Angel Chicken is a creamy, comforting slow cooker dish featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich sauce of cream cheese, cream of chicken soup, and Italian dressing mix. Served over delicate angel hair pasta and garnished with parsley, it’s a hassle-free meal perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken and Sauce

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 (8 oz) block cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup dry white wine (or more chicken broth if preferred)
  • 1 packet (0.7 oz) Italian dressing mix (dry seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Pasta and Garnish

  • 1 pound angel hair pasta, cooked and drained
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the slow cooker: Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom and season them with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.
  2. Make the creamy sauce: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, white wine (if using), and Italian dressing mix. Stir continuously until the sauce is well combined and creamy.
  3. Cook the chicken in sauce: Pour the creamy sauce mixture over the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours, or on high for 2–3 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked through.
  4. Cook the pasta: Approximately 20 minutes before serving, cook the angel hair pasta according to the package instructions. Drain well.
  5. Serve: Remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and shred or slice them. Serve the chicken over a bed of cooked angel hair pasta, spooning plenty of the creamy sauce on top. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute the cream of chicken soup with cream of mushroom soup for a different flavor variation.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth or reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
  • This dish reheats very well, making it great for leftovers the next day.
