Description
Cotton Candy Cloud Bites are a nostalgic, light, and airy sweet treat made by coating marshmallows in a mix of powdered sugar and cotton candy sugar. These bite-sized delights are easy to prepare, requiring no baking, and are perfect for parties or a fun snack.
Ingredients
Scale
Marshmallows
- 2 cups mini marshmallows (or regular marshmallows cut into smaller pieces)
Coating
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- ½ cup cotton candy sugar (available in specialty stores or online)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for dusting)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (for coating)
Instructions
- Prepare the Marshmallows: If you’re using large marshmallows, cut them into smaller bite-sized pieces. Mini marshmallows can be used as-is.
- Make the Coating: In a medium bowl, combine the powdered sugar, cotton candy sugar, and cornstarch (if using). Stir the mixture to evenly distribute the sugars.
- Coat the Marshmallows: In a separate large bowl, melt the butter and gently toss the marshmallows in the melted butter to coat them evenly. You want a light coating, just enough for the sugar mixture to stick.
- Roll in Sugar: Take each butter-coated marshmallow and roll it in the cotton candy sugar mixture, making sure it’s well-coated. Repeat for all marshmallows. If desired, you can place the coated marshmallows on a tray lined with parchment paper to keep them from sticking.
- Chill to Set: Place the coated marshmallows in the refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes to allow the sugar coating to set.
- Serve: Once the sugar coating has hardened, your Cotton Candy Cloud Bites are ready to serve! Enjoy this sweet, nostalgic treat that’s light, airy, and utterly delightful!
Notes
- For best results, use mini marshmallows or cut large marshmallows into uniform bite-sized pieces.
- Cornstarch is optional and helps prevent the sugar from clumping, but you can omit it if you prefer.
- Use melted butter sparingly to avoid making the marshmallows too sticky.
- Keep the coated marshmallows refrigerated until serving to maintain the sugar coating texture.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
