- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup water
Topping
- 1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling
Glaze
- 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9 x 13 inch baking dish to ensure the cake does not stick.
- Mix Batter: In a large bowl, combine the white cake mix, ground cinnamon, sour cream, eggs, and water. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
- Pour Batter: Pour the prepared batter evenly into the greased baking dish, spreading it out to cover the entire surface.
- Add Apple Topping: Spoon the apple pie filling evenly over the batter, making sure to cover the whole surface with apples.
- Bake the Cake: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake turns golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool the Cake: Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely in the baking dish to set properly.
- Prepare Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and milk until smooth to create a sweet glaze.
- Glaze the Cake: Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cake evenly to finish with a touch of sweetness.
- Serve: Slice the cake into 12 servings, serve, and enjoy this delicious cinnamon apple dessert.
Notes
- Use a toothpick to test doneness; it should come out clean when the cake is fully baked.
- For a more pronounced cinnamon flavor, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top of the apple filling before baking.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
- Reheat slices in the microwave for about 15 seconds for a warm treat.
