Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes and Sausage
- 1 pound baby potatoes (or 4-5 medium potatoes, cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 14 oz smoked sausage, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
Seasonings and Toppings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or homemade ranch seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for extra creaminess)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray to prepare for roasting.
- Prepare the Potatoes and Sausage: Wash and cut the baby potatoes into bite-sized pieces. Slice the smoked sausage into 1/4-inch rounds to ensure even cooking.
- Season the Potatoes and Sausage: In a large bowl, toss the potatoes and sausage slices with olive oil, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, paprika (if using), salt, and pepper until everything is evenly coated.
- Bake: Spread the seasoned potato and sausage mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, golden brown, and the sausage is nicely browned.
- Add the Cheese: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the potatoes and sausage. Return the baking sheet to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Once the cheese is melted and golden, remove from the oven. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley if desired. For extra creaminess, drizzle with sour cream before serving. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
- Use red-skinned or Yukon gold potatoes for different textures.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
- To make it dairy-free, omit the cheese and sour cream or use dairy-free alternatives.
