Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Wet Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or spray a loaf pan to ensure the bread doesn’t stick during baking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt. Then stir in the shredded cheddar cheese evenly. Set this mixture aside.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter thoroughly until combined.
- Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Take care not to overmix to keep the bread light and tender.
- Pour into Pan: Spoon or pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack. Once cooled, take the loaf out of the pan, slice, and serve.
Notes
- Make sure not to overmix the batter to prevent a dense bread texture.
- Use sharp cheddar for a more pronounced cheesy flavor.
- This bread is best served warm or at room temperature.
- Store leftovers wrapped in foil or an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Optional: Add chopped herbs like chives or parsley for extra flavor.
