Description

Delight your furry friend with these Blueberry Yogurt Swirl Dog Paw Treats, made from wholesome ingredients like plain Greek yogurt and fresh blueberries. Perfect for a refreshing, healthy snack, these frozen treats combine the natural sweetness of berries with creamy yogurt, all handcrafted into adorable paw shapes. Easy to prepare and freezer-friendly, they are ideal for keeping your dog cool and happy during warmer days.

Ingredients

Scale

Blueberry Syrup

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon water

Yogurt Mixture

  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened and xylitol-free)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Blueberries: Add the blueberries and water to a small saucepan over low heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the berries soften and create a syrupy texture. Mash them with a spoon or fork if you prefer a smoother consistency. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Yogurt: In a blender or food processor, combine the Greek yogurt and honey (if using) and blend until smooth and creamy.
  3. Assemble the Treats: Spoon small amounts of the cooled blueberry mixture into silicone paw-shaped molds, then top each with the yogurt mixture. Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the two layers together to create a marbled effect. Lightly tap the molds on the counter to release any air bubbles.
  4. Freeze the Treats: Place the molds in the freezer and freeze for at least 3 hours or until solid.
  5. Store and Serve: Once frozen, pop the treats out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the freezer. Serve these treats occasionally, especially on warm days, for a cool and nutritious dog snack.

Notes

  • Use silicone molds for easy removal of the treats.
  • Ensure the yogurt used is dog-safe and free of sweeteners like xylitol, which are toxic to dogs.
  • These frozen treats are best served occasionally, particularly during hot weather to help your dog cool down.
