Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it reaches the proper temperature for baking the chicken evenly.
- Make the honey Dijon sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, honey, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper until well combined and smooth.
- Coat the chicken: Place the chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour the honey Dijon mixture over them. Turn each chicken breast to coat it evenly with the sauce, ensuring every piece is well covered.
- Bake the chicken: Bake the chicken uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes. During baking, baste the chicken once or twice with the pan juices to enhance flavor and moisture. The chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the meat is golden and cooked through.
- Rest and garnish: Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired before serving.
Notes
- For extra tenderness and enhanced flavor, marinate the chicken in the honey Dijon sauce for up to 2 hours before baking.
- This recipe also works well with chicken thighs if you prefer darker meat.
- Ensure the chicken is fully cooked by checking the internal temperature with a meat thermometer.
