Description

Delicious and creamy Air Fryer Avocado Eggs are a perfect breakfast or snack option. Ripe avocados are halved and pitted, then filled with eggs and seasoned with spices before being air fried to perfection. The result is a healthy, protein-rich, and flavorful dish that’s quick and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
  • 4 small eggs
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons shredded cheese (optional)
  • Chopped fresh herbs or red pepper flakes for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the avocados.
  2. Prepare avocados: Carefully scoop out a small amount of flesh from the center of each avocado half to create enough room to hold an egg without overflow. This also helps the egg cook evenly.
  3. Position avocados: Place the avocado halves upright in the air fryer basket or a heat-safe dish that fits inside the air fryer. Stability is key to preventing spills, so you can use ramekins or foil nests if needed.
  4. Add eggs: Crack one egg into each avocado cavity. If the egg white is too much and risks overflowing, gently discard a little to fit within the avocado.
  5. Season: Sprinkle each filled avocado with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to enhance flavor.
  6. Air fry: Cook in the air fryer for 10 to 14 minutes depending on preferred egg yolk doneness—10 minutes for a runny yolk and 14 minutes for fully set.
  7. Add cheese: During the last 2 minutes of air frying, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top if using, allowing it to melt perfectly.
  8. Finish and serve: Carefully remove the avocado eggs from the air fryer. Garnish with fresh herbs or red pepper flakes as desired. Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

  • Use smaller eggs to prevent overflowing when cracking into avocado halves.
  • Stabilize the avocado halves in the air fryer basket using ramekins or foil nests for even cooking and to avoid spills.
  • Enhance flavor by adding toppings like crumbled bacon, salsa, or hot sauce after cooking.
